TRANSPORT & CONTACT DETAILS

Method of transport to and from the activity
Own transport to Orange Aquatic Centre, Hill Street Orange

5:30pm start, 7pm finish - please note this activity will finish 30 minutes earlier than our usual Scout/Venturer meetings.

ACTIVITY DETAILS

Activity overview

Youth members will be assessed on their aquatic skills in preparation for future water activities events. Millie (Venturer) will be leading the evening as part of her Lifesaving Level 5 qualification. Youth members will be awarded their aquatics or lifesaving badge to the highest level demonstrated on the evening. Please refer to the document linked below which outlines the skills to be demonstrated at each level.

Youth members to pay their own entry to the Aquatic Centre. No other costs.

Will participants remain on site at all times? Yes



SUPERVISION & ATTENDANCE

Who may attend (youth/adults)
Scouts, Venturers, Leaders, Parents

Adult screening requirements
(WWCC, Police Check, membership registration)
All leaders and adult helpers have current WWCC, police check, and are registered members of Scouts NSW

Other parents may attend who are not registered with Scouts NSW as this is not an overnight activity.


HEALTH, SAFETY & HYGIENE

Health expectations (e.g. illness exclusions)
Participants should not attend if they are unwell or showing symptoms of illness.

Participants may be sent home if they become unwell during the event.


BEHAVIOUR & PARTICIPATION EXPECTATIONS

Behaviour standards
This event will be using the patrol system and buddy system. Participants are required to stay with the group, with the exception of needing to use the amentiies, in this situation, they must go with a buddy and ensure that the patrol leader is aware of their whereabouts.

All participants are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully at all times, in accordance with the Scouts Code of Conduct, the Scout Promise and Law, and relevant federal and state laws.

Participants may be sent home in the case of non-compliance with the expected standards of behavior.


EQUIPMENT & CLOTHING

Participants must bring
Swimmers, towel, clothes to wear in the water (old tracksuit pants, jumper, socks, shoes), waterbottle, dry clothes to wear home. Snorkel and mask if you have one available please.

Responsibility for personal items is the sole responsibility of the participant and/or their parent/guardian. Under no circumstances will Leaders be responsible for safe keeping, loss or damage to items.



 

Please advise the activity co-ordinator if you are unable to attend on the day, if you are aware of this before the event day, please withdraw from this event by using the withdraw feature.
