Scouts NSW - 2nd Orange Scout Group

Hiking at Evans Crown Nature Reserve for Scouts and Venturers

Event information

Registrations for this event are closed.

ACTIVITY DETAILS

Evans Crown Nature Reserve is located 4km east of the village of Tarana and 100 km from Orange. The reserve is dominated by a ridgeline of granite cliffs and giant boulders. Much to explore. Spectacular views. What we explore, and the activities we do, will be determined by the composition of the group.

The climb from the carpark is on a well-defined track to gain the ridge top. On the ridge the route is less defined with some rock scrambling. Some current 2nd Orange scouts and venturers visited in 2024. See:

Parents are welcome to participate and likely needed to assist with transport. Other family members? Please discuss with the activity leader.

See the attached day walking checklist. Bring packed lunch, snacks and water.
